When the Oculus Quest was to be released in June 2019, I pre-ordered it at once without hesitation. The time of standalone VR headsets had finally come. I had been waiting for this for years, VR being an essential part of my worldview (will elaborate on this one day).

Two years have passed. Facebook renamed Oculus Connect to Facebook Connect, released the Quest 2 at the price of $299 and made FB accounts compulsory to play. VRMMORPGs like Zenith are set to come to the Quest later this year (needless to say, I have that pre-ordered as well).

Sadly, however, VR remains a distant novelty far removed from the minds of many. People do not understand just how great it is. That full body immersion, its transcending of keyboard and mouse, its challenging of the physical body which also doubles as exercise – here is where the main appeal of VR lies!

Anyway, VR is great. While I am not technologically advanced enough to record footage, post about it I will!

PS: There are many applications of VR beyond personal use. (Simulations for medical, military, technical operations etc)
