I am prepared for every matchup, but my trademark move remains unchanging

So first of all I will start with a reflection on my attempted embodiment of last week’s article, and then I will conceptualise further on it somewhat. So here goes.

Last week, I decided that I was my source and I could choose what energy I wanted to embody and therein deliver into the world.

The very next day, I was the mentor in a group mentoring session. Now this was session 2. So in session 1, I was thoroughly like a recluse and hardly participating in it all in my opinion, though I of course did still get a word or two in. (There was another mentor). That day, I was the sole mentor.

And how did I do? Well, I literally embodied mentor. For instance, I sort of joked about how this mentee had had three packets of the catered food to eat the previous time round and such, wondering if he would repeat the same feat. Anyway. My usual self is one where I only! talk more so of deep conversation, and thus did it depart, diverge here. If I was previously non-participatory, now I inserted my presence for real.

I really kinda feel I went from 0 to 100 there in a sense.

Another example. In another group activity of the week, while usually I would have been much more inclined to just keep to myself and luxuriate in stillness and silence, this time I made small talk with the others who seemed to have inclination towards small talk and observed! how some were more than happy to avoid interacting with other people.

If I must say so myself, I really didn’t do all that bad!

Anyway, recap over. So now about my musings.

After all my contemplations, the conclusion I have come to is this. What the goal is, ultimately, is simply as the title describes. We prepare for all matchups, but our usual, trademark, go-to, killer move remains the same truly.

See, after a bit of research and all, I realised that hey, who says it’s better to be good at small talk?

Like, I literally realised that some people are energised by small talk! In contrast, some people like me are perfectly comfortable in and even regain! energy from being alone and undisturbed! Therefore, who is to say that one way of being is better than the idea? Who, seriously?

See, by social standards somehow it is ideal that a group of people who are together are making talk and having conversation together! Still! It actually is the case that some people prefer deep conversation and are averse to shallow ones, whereas some are energised by said smallspeak!

Therefore, why must they all engage in the same mode of being during their break time?!!

Hear me out, okay. There’s far more that I have realised than just that.

See, I have indeed greatly benefited from this week’s trials in my opinion. For instance, one thing I improved greatly on was the group mentoring as a sole mentor! Would I have been able to execute that otherwise? I really think not.

This brings me to my main point. See, we all have our standard operational states. And sometimes these are perfectly sufficient for the scenarios we are in! But at other times, they are not!

For instance, let’s say your main state of being is an introverted one. However! Today you’re taking a group of class and surrounded by a bunch of fellow learners. During breaktime, every single one of them goes to interact with one another. Now let’s say you couldn’t care less about keeping to yourself and being in hermit mode even then. Even so!

Might it be possible that you could technically also benefit and/or enjoy yourself greatly by doing what everyone else is doing and socialising too? Sharing a bit about yourself and icebreaking a little, perhaps?

Yet if you only ever can be in this solitary state of being, that option is just 100%, eternally, always, simply just closed off to you!

Let’s use the analogy of Pokemon or role-playing games.

Now in games and battles, there are matchups. Sometimes your main combat method is more effective against your matchup, and so you just stick to that. But sometimes! It just doesn’t really work! And so you have got to employ a different technique instead to combat your opponent! And sometimes, that new technique can be super ultra effective even on said opponent, depending on matchup!

And thus, isn’t it best if you were adaptable enough to switch to an alternative combat mode for the battle?

For instance, let’s say you like naval combat and usually have aquashoes on. Yet, would you literally wear these aquashoes everywhere, even when the combat is on a mountain ridge for instance?!!

No! In that case, you’d probably switch to gear more suited for that terrain instead, like hiking boots! It makes much more sense, since otherwise your overall combat ability is greatly diminished just by default alone!

Let’s use a Pokemon battle for instance. Now their main combat ability is earthquake and it really hurts. However! Maybe you note this and you combat this which a Pokemon which can use fly which makes you immune to the earthquake skill. Voila! Now you thoroughly counter! them and victory comes as easily as a breeze to you!

It’s much the same in life. Yes, maybe you have this one main skill that you always use. For example, the Falling Mist Sword. It’s what you’re known for by everyone else. They see you, you think of it. But hey! What if another skill aka circumstance just happens to be a counter matchup for that trademark of yours?

To use an analogy, what if your company suddenly sends you off networking but you just have zero experience in small talk? Why person, you’re totally not prepared for it and you’ll probably flunk!

Seriously, if you only ever remain in your comfort zones, it simply limits your options.

For instance! If you only ever do single combat, what if you happen to meet with a crowd of lower-levelled enemies or mobs! Why! You will just be thoroughly unused to it! And in order to combat that, what! do you do? Why, you learn an AOE or area of effect attack to kill them all at once! Nope, that’s still not your main as your speciality is still single combat, but just for whenever the need for such crops up!!

The same goes for real life. Just be only ever having some options available to you, you might actually be limiting yourself from achieving mastery over some other options! Which could open up whole new realms of possibility for you even, were you to actually think!

For instance. Let’s say that you have never tried to approach a girl and ask for their number before. Or something along that line. One day somehow you find a scenario where you really really want to do so. Alas! You simply have no idea how to before you’ve never! done so like, ever, before! And pitifully, you can only find yourself throwing helplessly, very… throwing in the towel there.

But let’s think of it another way. Let’s say even though you do not normally do this, because you are not inclined to do so, you have opened! up the realms of possibility for yourself such that if you somehow, ever wanted to do so, you would actually be able to do so! How would things be then, huh?!

Why! Yeah, you go everywhere fighting with the Falling Mist Sword and everyone knows it as your trademark move! But still! Fighting an enemy who specialises in sunlight, an energy who is able to summon the power of the sun to dispel all mist, thus rendering your attack negligible, you are still able to fight and obtain victory over him! Why? Because!!! You’ve also mastered the One-inch-thousand-yard punch! Yeah! Hehe…

Anyway, that’s my main point here really. Think of people who want to obtain victory over all under the heavens. Such as Ash wanting to become the best Pokemon trainer ever, or Luffy wanting to become the Pirate King! What do they do? Well, apart from having the main things they’re proficient in, they also train to be able to handle all and any matchups that come their way! To obtain victory, you must be able therefore to handle all worthy opponents who might seek to dethrone you!

And so it is that, for instance, I myself might be most and truly myself over in the state of silence. However, when the times come for me to present myself, I can still turn on the switch and really groove! Or somehow, when I am asked to oversee a group as a facilitator, I can insert my presence sufficiently to do so! Or when I am asked to truly converse and network, I can basically still get a passing score!

Yes! Obviously, some other people are the ones best suited for the task yo. However! Sometimes, life may call me to step up to the plate in such situations, and why then must I be thoroughly unequipped regrettably, for thus?

Let’s say our hero wanders through the world. He fights best on land. However, some enemies invade via the sea. And thus he has to fight using naval tactics. However, what can our hero of the ages, he who truly is lauded so in the hearts of the people, do but fight in said element? And if a desert tribe comes attacking, yes, they are most! suited for said terrain, more so than he, but what can he do but hereby take up arms and fight in their advantageous element?

And what will our hero do but win?!!

And so you see, back to our title. I am hereby proposing this. Let it be that what we do in said situation is something that we! ourselves! are! choosing! to! do!, as opposed to something that we have no choice but to do. Let it be that we’re intentionally, purposefully choosing to execute the Falling Mist Sword because we know that it is effective enough here yet! When we see we must use the One-inch-thousand-yard punch!!! or whatever, let us then employ it instead!

See, the main thing here is that it is a choice. For instance, one may say that a good way to measure one’s level of spirituality is the ability to choose and be in one’s chosen state of consciousness at any time. Somehow, doesn’t this align, synchronise rather well with that?!

So yes, I would say that you can thoroughly still which state of being you wish to be in when you feel they are right for you at that time… However! Do not let that be a chain that limits you! You still can completely! choose to be in an alternative state of being should the need for it arise, rather than be in a wholly suppressed, handicapped state of being relative to that circumstance! And that calls for, heh, the word rather favoured by me… expansion!!! Yeahhhhh!

And there you have it! This is quite an interesting article that I have written I feel. I really hope that it made sense enough! Obviously, learning as I go along is the way I’ve been doing it yeah! Bye!
