Quick update on why there wasn’t an article uploaded here by Wednesday last week! See, from late Tuesday I realised I had a fever. It lasted for a few days and the highest it went was like about 39.5°C. And yeah it really really sucked and I really was glad to see it go. Well, and I’m happy that three days later I got really productive (as discerned by me!!!) and yesterday itself was quite insane in terms of how it went too. No elaboration.
Still I’ll mention one or two things and then I’ll do a quick mini-article here before having a normal length one by Wednesday again this coming week. So here goes.
Well basically, I’ve completed the quest that I was just taking forever to do! That was the quest of doing music composition to my songs see. Well, except that I kinda had been doing them? …See while randomly searching up how to sing while playing the piano, I discovered the concept of apparently what are called ‘chord charts’. So yeah you play them in sync with the lyrics as you sing them.
And drumroll… or not. Sigh. I actually discovered that hey, isn’t that precisely what I’ve been doing for the accompaniment to my own singing thus far? It’s exactly chord charts!
Well, I guess there’s a difference. So the difference is that in my chord chart composition so to speak, I just randomly do stuff. Like, you know, in actual music composers actually know the keys of their songs and they choose a few chords and simply play these same!! ones one after another as the song progresses?
Whereas yeah, I do repeat the exact same chords when the exact same chorus repeats, but it’s just totally based on how it sounds and there can really be numerous, numerous chords in total? And I literally!! have zero idea what the keys of the songs are even though technically I do have the slightest bit of music theory background?
Whatever.
Anyway, what I did was I used Musescore to piano-compose and sang over it, over the exact same chord composing thing I’ve been doing alongside a melody-transcribing thing that it was my very first time doing. And still I won’t say it’s very fantastic at all, but well, whatever! It’s done!!! (Left hand plus right hand in other words rather than just one hand piano yeah)
Here’s the lyrics to Evolve.
Interestingly enough, I also discovered that there’s this platform called Soundcloud I think? which amateur musicians might use when they start out just to test the waters and such, but… in 2024 I set one of my new year resolutions as something like getting a song out on Spotify, and then I just directly did it there? Hmm. Whatever. I know it’s totally!! not commercial in the least but whatever, it’ll do.
Anyway without further ado, let’s quickly hop into the mini-article shall we.
So the perspective that I’d like to push out today is this:
No I’m not saying you’re wrong, your perspective just isn’t broad enough (it’s limited in fact).
Now I’ve decided to kind of quickly whip up a parable to illustrate this.
So basically:
Your parents are rags-to-prosperity people. They once were in the lower echelons, but they scrimped and saved and are now upper-middle.
One day, say your father realises you’ve ordered Grab food.
The man is devastated.
“There was food at home!” He says astonished, “Were you so starving?”
And he adds that you could technically have just walked out a little to the nearby coffee shop and there would have been quite a few options! So why give away delivery money for free, he asks, aghast.
So now, back to your perspective.
One, you were just in zero mood to walk and look for food at the time, and said option you wanted wasn’t so easily accessible anyways.
Two, you actually have quite an okay money stash to be honest and what’s the point of having money if you don’t spend it anyways? What, just to leave it to your descendants when you pass? And, and! Spending is circulating!!! the economy, letting it function and flow! Plus, you know, if you hop on someone else’s group order you can actually split the delivery fee.
Three… okay whatever.
That’s not the point. The point is this..
No, I’m no saying you’re wrong in that you are very thrifty. Had you not scrimped and saved in the past, we would not live a prosperous lifestyle now. Though to be honest I do truly question: Is this continued lifestyle of yours truthfully based on a lack or scarcity mindset or is it actually your so prided, avowed authenticity? Because I am not ruling out that the universe has created some people to be naturally thrifty! If your truth is this good 4 ya!
But anyways, here’s the bulk of it. This is not my truth. My truth is not being thrifty to this extent. My truth, I honestly already see as being so incredibly minimalistic compared to loads of other people! Still, I have some degree of spending that I do see as being perfectly reasonable! I understand that yeah, were I living in a rural society where even survival was an issue I would have to be grateful even just for my stomach being filled.
But the thing is I’m not from there.
I seek not mere survival. I seek living. And for this living, some things just are what you might even call more of these… non-negotiables.
Okay, so now let’s revert back to the main principle I wanted to convey. I’ll expand on it again.
Sometimes, when you want to say that this is what is true for me, it doesn’t at all, no god forbid, mean that that is in any way false for you!
And huh, seriously, honestly, I’m in no way trying to disparage your way of being as invalid or portray myself as being superior to you!
Rather, this world is one of multiplicity and diversity. We can all have different daos, different ways of being, and we can all unequivocally be right. Here the key word, really is this – respect! We respect that they got this way of being, and we accept it and we let them be who they are! That old saying 道不同不相为谋。For those with whom we click, we can be their kin if we do so vibe. For those with whom we don’t, well bye bye!! Peace out.
Meanwhile I’ll just reiterate some important basic concepts as well to end off this mini-article.
First and foremost, communication. You gotta understand that not everyone’s gears jam in the same way as yours. So sometimes you gotta get clear on how they run, take a look at their ‘imaginary instruction manual’. This is especially important for new couples learning to live together I would suppose. And people doing group projects together? Basically wherever there is a need to tsutawaru or let the meaning be conveyed.
Ideally everyone should be brought up to speed and on the same page.
Finally, boundaries. There are some things that you just cannot give way with regard to because of some things that are just so monumental in importance to you. Make sure you upkeep this, for otherwise, you! BETRAY!! Yourself!!!
I suppose that the idea is where more or less the same thing floats everyone’s boats. Man! Do they click then!! Jam like in a band!
Alright, so I’m totally cutting off the mini-article here because Sunday is totally supposed to be my rest day and I’m already being super nice by posting here today. Alright then! Bye now! New week starting, have everything flowing really nice and smooth for y’all going into it!
Daimon out.
Whoosh!
