The single-minded masculine, the all-encompassing feminine and on balancing them

Have you ever heard of the terms masculine and feminine energies? Like, it may be true that men tend to gravitate more towards the former and women the latter, but it really isn’t definite and clear-cut like that!

In truth, everyone possesses a mixture of both masculine and feminine energies to differing degrees, and this is irregardless of what their actual gender is.

So first of all, let’s differentiate the two energies.

Masculine energy is directed, focused and converging, like the sign >. Feminine energy is wide, diverging and all-encompassing, like the sign <.

And the way this plays out is quite straightforward!

Like, our current society is more of a masculine dominant one, wherein everyone has their eyes fixed on goals and achievements and such. With that in mind, they try to compete and one-up one another. So they just individually have their attention focused on goals which they’re zeroed in on.

A perfect example of masculine energy would be sports, in which athletes train every single day and aim to improve their skills. Their minds are just single-mindedly fixed on that one goal of winning.

As for feminine energy, it’s instead more focused on nurturing. It’s principle is really that of being all-encompassing and able to accept and take everything under its wing. Thus qualities like patience are a hallmark of it. As love is all-encompassing, so is feminine energy able to embrace and accept everything, whatever it may be, and harbour space for it while fostering it and helping it to grow. Love accepts all.

So examples of people who are more on the side of feminine within the spectrum would be people like nurses and counsellors. They listen patiently, despite all problems thrown at them, and do their best to nurture their patients to be in their best state and so flourish… Essentially, guiding.

Of course, sometimes these masculine and feminine energies are too skewed and imbalanced that they may cause problems!

The masculine energy is all about focusing and directing one energy and shaping things as one wishes. Dominion, so to speak. Thus, someone who is overly in their masculine energy could be very unforgivingly a controlling person. Like ‘you should do this!’ or ‘no, do that!’ are words that are commonly employed by them as they try to control.

In extreme cases with a severe lack of the feminine, this translates to the person in question not being open and receptive to the energies of the other party at all. They do not listen to the other party’s concerns and treat them like an equal human being, but truly just shut them down whenever they might try to share.

In contrast, the feminine energy is all about being open and receptive and accepting. However, if one is overly in their feminine energy, they can totally lack boundaries and be just like a doormat allowing others to just push them around as they just rock back and forth like a lonely boat in the wind. In other words, they are so much about being able to encompass others, yet they do not encompass themselves.

In extreme cases with a severe lack of the masculine, this translates to the person in question letting literally everything be decided on by others and not really having much of an identity of their own at all.

Thus we can see how the masculine and feminine energies differ yet are totally essential for a good life. The former is goal-oriented, having set their sights and resolve on something. Meanwhile, the latter is instead more about harmony, simply being about love and everybody getting together and having a good merry time. So in that sense, this former energy is more self-directed, while the other is more other-directed.

Well, is it not obvious that both of these energies are essential within a new startup? The former as the startup shoots for the stars and aims to achieve stellar glory; the latter as this startup aims to solidify a group identity where everyone is united and having fun?

So surely, we gotta have a balance of the two!!!

Not only do we want to win, we want the whole team to win, together, as a cohesive, integrated whole!

Regarding navigating life, the feminine energy is about trusting life and surrendering, whereas the masculine energy helps with goal setting and adjusting the direction the so-called boat is sailing in…

When the masculine energy has set its sights on something, it is intensely focused on it as it seeks to triumph against all odds. Meanwhile, the feminine energy has no such chains which effectively bind it. Instead, the feminine energy can seek to simply create in what is known as creativity, simply tapping on and easing into the flow of energy of life and just materialising something out of nothing.

In that sense, it seems rather freer and more enviable, doesn’t it!!!

But hey!

Anyway, let’s return to another key ‘difference’ between masculine and feminine energy.

Masculine energy is about rationality and logic and principles and all that. It’s about seeing things the correct way and getting rid of those erroneous perspectives.

In contrast, feminine energy has a different job or function. Rather than being about knowledge, it is instead about understanding. Just as feminine energy seeks to be all-encompassing and accept all, it also seeks to understand others so that it can fully embrace them. That just seems reminiscent of this difference between how both energies deal with problems! Masculine corrects, solves while feminine sits with.

At least, that’s how both energies react when a friend is telling them about a problem!!!

Finally, let’s take a look at this last equation that I’ve derived regarding masculine and feminine energy.

Know what willpower is? That’s what enables us to get through obstacles!

Well, even willpower itself is also a mixture of both masculine and feminine energies!

You’ve got your eyes set on something. You are totally focused, zeroed, dedicated to it. You are wholly determined and nothing will shift your gaze.

Masculine: Determination

Whatever may happen, come what may, I will accept it. I am open and encompass all. It doesn’t matter to me. I will just drink in all of it, and literally nothing will stop me!

Feminine: Perseverance

So one outward focused (eyes on da prize!), > converging so to speak, and the other inward focused (:whatever may befall me, I am not any less!), < so to speak…

Combination: Determination + Perseverance = Willpower!
