Alright, let’s start! I’m really excited to write this article. Quite an essential portion of it was actually just fresh conceptualised while I was in the midst of my post-lunch walk, which is part of my healthy lifestyle efforts! Anyway, I think I won’t add in any images to supplement this one. Happens every now and then yeah! So, without further ado…
If human society were a humanoid figure, it would have to be divided into two main categories – creation and foundation. Why is that so? Basically, just think of what distinguishes human beings from all other sentient beings. Well, self-awareness aside, it’s really none other than our ability to create that stands out! It allowed us to create the tools necessary for us to do things.
Are we as fast as cheetahs, as big as elephants, as strong as tigers? Absolutely not! But what allows us to survive even amidst natural selection and all that – see, we’re actually able to make weapons to combat and even take down these animals that are technically much more physically gifted than us.
So let’s enter our power of creation proper.
Brain
First of all, we have the scientists, inventors and the researchers, whom I shall call our brains. Thomas Edison? Issac Newton? And so on and so forth. Without all these terrific minds, we would be without all!! our inventions to date. Huh, electricity, smartphones, computers, even planes – these are some things we simply cannot imagine being without in this day and age! And yet they were only enabled because of these precious creators.
And of course, we also have less technological and more conceptual creators, like, of course, Carl Jung whom I find was revolutionary, albeit! in his own category and way!
However, it more or less ends there as the main role of these creators is really to create. Their legacies stand the test of time, though – take for example Karl Marx. He created communism, and that was just that groundbreakingly impactful in that age. But of course, he only did the philosophy.
As for how these technologies and such are implemented, it totally falls into the next category of people.
Eyes
Enter our eyes – the visionaries of this age. An obvious sort of people in this category are none other than our entrepreneurs. With the new technologies that are invented by the inventors, they start companies and break new ground! Well, that most famous example I can think of hundred percent is none other than Steve Jobs with Apple. Well, and Elon Musk too I suppose.
Now the thing about this new age is that nothing is set in stone. It is easy to overlook, but just a mere century ago, we were actually still in an age of the world wars! And people had many children and all that! But now, look. Often people only have one or two children in more advanced societies, and some don’t even care to have them anymore based on personal choice. Ageism is real – in Singapore, almost 20% are! gonna be 65 and above real soon!
And also, social progress – how do we create more blue zones on earth such that people really get to enjoy a good life with nice longevity?
These is why people have to come up with policies and do some trial and error. And that is why I must say that those in the government nicely fall under the eye category too, for they are our visionaries, the ones that chart a path to bring society forward for the good of their citizens, for the betterment of humankind!
Well of course some are just corrupt and power hungry and they completely!!! fail in that category but still. Just think of our revolutionaries! Like Gandhi, Lee Kuan Yew… in the age of independence, it was these visionaries who created our nows.
Quick back to brain
Oh, but before I proceed, I would like to quickly point out a special category of people, these being the philosophers. People like Aristotle come to mind. See, the thing is that even before our visionaries can act! upon the ideas, there must first be people to conceive of them!! So this returns us to our previous category of brains. Prior to the visionaries actually implementing the ideas, there must first be those to even conceive!! of them!
Much like the Karl Marx example, yeah. Because otherwise, those possibilities are simply not even conceived of! So I think another way to call these people might be thought leaders. For they raise the question, and in doing so ultimately direct!! it to the minds of the collective consciousness. And otherwise, there could simply be no action taken upon these initiatives for the sake of humankind.
Did you know? Philosophers were – was it Plato? – once seen in their ideal form as the philosopher kings! For it was mental acuity, it was thought that it was truly only them who were fit to rule. Anyway.
Just one quick mention before jumping into the next category.
This age is not a settled one. Progress is still happening. And one prominent issue that has arisen seems to be one of, again, the possibility of technological unemployment with the rise of AI and such. And here there seems to be a dearth, at least to common awareness – for who? Who are the ones doing all the brain work for this era? Are the philosophers doing their job (I truly have no idea okay)?
For instance, conceptualising on how every single person needing to work and earn money in order to live is only a societal construct. Or how we should limit the powers granted to AI and not!!! allow them authority to step beyond these roles, possibly supplanting ours.
Basically there is a need for our collective brain now more than ever because otherwise, we are totally floundering and without even the clarity to conceive of a clear direction and zero in our focus, our overarching target at one point.
Like, I think the most the government can do now without any ones to even conceive of such alternative possibilities is simply to assuage and reassure of the ‘hopeful fact’ that no, society can still go on as it ‘always has’. In doing so they totally deny the possibility that well actually, no, that might not be the case 🙁 or that perhaps you can forge an even more ideal society even from such circumstances. No, but now, only a single!! possibility of the status quo is seen as something we can give our hopes to, and everything else is seen as just not ideal or even fear-mongering.
Alright, I was ranting. Forget about that if it’s too much brain work! Well, it was part of the brain section so yeah. Anyway, moving on!
Heart
For the third category, we have heart. Now this consists of our those who cause our hearts to beat fast, to really feel excitement and joy as we coexist with their successes and failures and kind of see them as an extension of ourselves. Well, what comes to mind? Sports teams is definitely one, yeah. Another would simply be entertainment in general, like drawing or singing or dancing or acting. Now this is like a source! of pleasure as it gives us the joy in living.
Yeah, for many of us nowadays, we experience no passion in work at all and doing it for the money. Ouch. And the only place where we can derive enjoyment might be TV at home, or our own hobbies. Consequently speaking, can you even deny that here, where we see the joy in living – this is where our hearts reside?
Well, and even not identifying with such a bleak perspective, just think of those authors, even playwrights out there. Is it not that they write out scenes based on their worldviews and what truly resonates with them? A heart-based action, basically!!! And when something really resonates with someone, be it arts or sports, yup, it moves their hearts man.
And so I will say that our entertainers are our hearts.
Even complex issues – it’s precisely through these creative works that cause the hearts of others to flare in emotion, thus evoking actual change! That’s how movements arise, even resolutions! Ah.
By the way, I want to emphasise that all three previous categories fall under the category of creation. Brain and conceiving? Creation. Eye and visionaries? Creation. Heart and entertainers? Well, creation too! In the sense of receiving, you’re right, it is precisely the heart which receives! But first, before the receiving – well, people write songs, books… and basically, where does the writing come from other than their hearts!
From the heart it is produced, and from the heart it is received!
Man! Even athletes! Through their training and hard work, they create the very versions of themselves that entertain! Well, maybe entertain is not such a good term to use then. Hmm, instead I’ll use… influence. Yep.
Heh, in a sense, their true callings are influencers yo! For art, sports, etc – what are these if not true hallmarks of culture? When we go to a museum, what is it but such things we see of civilisation?
Alright, not gonna wax lyrical. Zzz. I’m getting too ahead of myself again in writing this. Huh. Well. Don’t wanna plunge in too deep lol.
And now for the other half. If the first category is creation, then the second category is foundation.
Core
I’ll try to speed up my writing. So I would say that if human society were a humanoid figure, the core, the very thing that holds it up and sustains it and enables most of its exertions, must be none other than those who do the most ordinary day-to-day things. Cogwheels, gears and such, though totally not in an offensive way, no!
Some most classic examples I can think of would be the person at the counter in a convenience mart or a waiter at a restaurant. Going even further, you might even extend this to accountants who do the money work and make sure that everything is alright fiscally or the people doing the sales and the marketing.
Basically, they are the ones keeping the gears running and every existing machinery part going in place! Kudos to them! And yes, perhaps they don’t have the inclination to be in creation categories, but hey! Society simply wouldn’t be able to do without them anyway! …Well, at least until robots decide to take them over. Hah. Jk.
Hips
Then we come to another aspect of the foundation of human society, which I’ll link to none other than the hips. Why? Well, in a sense they’re what keeps us standing! Underrated in a sense imo. So, in existing, we must keep upright and go moving on in life. But first we have to get foundationally stable and be able to walk on our own. Much like teach a man to fish rather than just plain giving him the fish straight out yeah!
So, in order to cultivate our independence in being able to operate on our own, we have the nurturers. When we’re children, the teachers do it for us. If we’re societally disadvantaged, the social workers do it for us. If we’re locked in a vicious emotional storm, a therapist does it for us!
So hospitals too yeah. Gov jobseeker support schemes too yeah. All these things, together, basically, what they do is they keep us standing and able to continue moving on with our lives, for whatever endeavour we’ve chosen to commit ourselves to or even just a lame dreary life of autopilot. Um. No offence.
Right, here I must do a quick addition to the previous category of eye, or visionary. Basically, coach. See, coaches look into the future well ahead of us and help paint the picture for us while helping us walk toward becoming that version of ourselves! What is that if not a visionary!! Heh.
Base of spine
And now, for the final category. Base of spine really refers to the fixers, basically, that which holds us up. Yes, I do realise this may kind of overlap with other categories a bit, like the core and the visionary because government, but still. There is kind of a distinction.
So basically, think of it this way. When your tap stops working, where do you go? Why, the plumber. If your laptop can’t seem to turn on, where do you go to? Why, the computer repair shop! Etc, etc!
Just imagine a car driving on the road. The engine – the core – is actually what really gets it to traverse the road. The mechanic – the base of spine – is what really gets it running again after it stops working! Oh yes, the third category of foundation, the hips? Well… basically, I suppose it’s the dude at the petrol station who pours in the gasoline, yeah!! See, every once in a while, your fuel runs low, and you’ll need a top-up to be able to even remain functional see!
For otherwise, even if your operational hardware is all there, if there is a nasty little bug in the software, the program simply can’t get started!!!
Even if you possess all the skills and are truly capable, if you are feeling emotionally drained, you can’t exactly force yourself to be functional!
And in that sense, the base of spine is what keeps everything operational and all systems go. If the hips are what enable you to be able to stand up straight and keep going, the base of spine is the foundational and root of everything. And the core… well, it’s the essence of all systems go itself!!
Like, BoS makes sure the machine works, Core is the working of the machine, and Hips… well, it’s like greasing the machinery. Metal you know? Necessary upkeep? By workmen, not engineers?
Okay. I totally get it. I’m totally forcing things here. Yep. So time to end.
Conclusion
So for my final hurrah in this article… well to be honest though I really have no idea whatsoever what I am doing… let me make a final analogy. I wonder if any of you could have seen it coming! Hah.
Chakras! Yay.
Crown Chakra – Brain – R&D
Third Eye Chakra – Eyes – Visionaries
Heart Chakra – Heart – Influencers
Solar Plexus Chakra – Core – Salaryman/woman
Sacral Chakra – Hips – The Human Touch
Root Chakra – Base of Spine – Mechanics
Note: They say that the human touch (aka social jobs) cannot be replaced by AI!! Heh.
And as for the final throat chakra, let’s just say it’s the consolidated expression of everything as one completed avatar kay.
Alright, with that I have come to the end of the article, yay!!!!!!
Final reflection: Yeah, sometimes I go wild and let loose in doing all these sorts of crazy things. Huh. Well, I suppose it’s better than going to do immoral things huh, writing this article. I’m just having fun yep! Totally catering to my own preferences, even passions in playing. Just like a little kid. Welp.
Yeah, well idc I’ll just consider this fun self-project productive. So anyways end of inner musings. Till next week yeah!! Bye all!
