So today I’m gonna just quickly talk about sides that we have to us. Well technically, you could kind of classify them by ages: The aspiration pilot is middle-aged, the inner child is preschool and the tank refueller is elderly. So let’s begin. I’ll clarify what I mean by this if it isn’t immediately obvious.
First of all we have the middle-aged man, the aspiration pilot. That’s the side of us that fulfills our responsibilities, secures our stability and pursues our dreams. Let me just give one or two examples. For example, work aside I also embody this in writing posts and articles regularly to say the least. I mean, I also finished the right hand composing of my new song this week.
Next we have the preschooler, the inner child. That’s the side of us that so happily does things that are totally unproductive. It’s not really working towards goals or anything. Often it’s consuming media and finishing a work. It’s spontaneous and carefree. It’s totally l even if the act brings us nowhere at all. Because being overly serious in life makes it heavy. Colour!
But then there’s also the third side, the elderly tank refueller. Now, living to the fullest does not only mean having a very fulfilling life with a packed schedule. Sometimes, the stimulation reaches a threshold and the nervous system goes: I’ve had enough! And then it’d be perfectly happy just lying on a random beach listening to the waves and watching people walk past.
Some people who know me might also know that I like to talk about that act of doing nothing and burning time to the high heavens. And if there’s anything I’d like to be, it’d be a cloud lol. I talk about it every now and then to this bunch. I guess this kind of balances out my striving, aspirant side.
Woah! It’s so good to just be mucking about doing nothing!!! Haha!! Especially when you’re already working hard enough usually, you damned well deserve that rest yo. But now that I think about it… hey. Doesn’t that cloud thing sorta better fit the third category as opposed to the second?!!
Because actually I’d more been referring to the joys of being unproductive. But still. Yeah, think about it! As a cloud, you just drift peacefully in doing absolutely nothing, fully content. Ah bliss! And this mode is so essential sometimes when your heart goes from desiring excitement to stillness…
Now, I’m not saying that I’m super burnt out or anything atm. I’m not tbh. Though I am admittedly in the third phase today. Saturdays are 100% gogo for me, and in contrast, most of Sundays usually would be peace is king. As I realised that I didn’t really feel like consuming fiction just now, even TV…
Well, I was just lying on the sofa harmoniously listening to the ambient noise and just letting the thoughts amble leisurely through my mind, and suddenly the premise of this article came to my mind, and I really wanna keep to my self-imposed schedule and write it… Idk, prob be lazing after.
In the third phase, that is! Until singing class lolz. And reaching 10000XP Duolingo and essentially ending the league week with the doubled score of the second rank. Which technically well… are more first phase thingies. But I’m regulating yo and only doing the bare minimum already k! Seriously!!!
Yep. So now you might see why the third phase might also be important for me. I suppose that for most people who don’t try living to the fullest and fill their life with fulfilling stuff, and they don’t overwork themselves too, why, they probably! won’t need to go do elderly tank refueller much!
See, because they’re so chill and not really exerting themselves much at all most of the time and so they can just eternally be in the second phase out of work and study and stuff! I mean, like consuming media and stuff… Of course, I must say that I totally respect this be and am happy for them too!
It’s fine if they just totally are who they want to be, it’s a free country! Now I’ll just end this cool article with a tip or two for people who do the third phase I guess. Well, for me walking works really well. It’s a perfect low intensity activity so. Oh and playing cool ambient music in the background.
But really yeah sometimes you can just lie down and listen to the ambient noise like I did earlier. And, to be honest, depending on what you do self-care for the body rocks too I suppose. Mainly I guess you don’t send too much input into your brain. Let it be at peace! Rest – luxuriate in stillness.
One last tip – get rid of all the extra stuff. Like, you know, too many thoughts and overthinking? Nope! You’re unconsciously tensing and clenching your body! Aww! Please relax it and release the tension k! I conclude by saying that in stillness good ideas may bless your mind.
Like, remember how the idea for this article came to me earlier on the sofa LOL. Heheh.
And that’s where I’m gonna end this article today. Bye y’all! Have a great next two weeks ahead! 🙂
Ps. Life happens in cycles. Some days you do more, some days you do less. All the same I still say it’s about living to the fullest, living every day like it’s your last with no regrets… (In a sustainable manner ofc). Live the moment!! This is your only chance to, because well, in a manner of moments you’ll be on to the next one innit!
PPS. I like how I have a new habit of watching movies I like. I liked the Odyssey. Spider-Man next week. Infinity Castle coming to Netflix this coming week. Oh and on Friday I was happy because I totally vibed with a colleague talking about movies. Yep so as you can see I’ve been prioritising Phase 2 proper as well yo!!!
