For whatever reasons, I’ve been doing these self-reflection and thought of the day things yesterday and today. I’m just sharing because why not. Now, again, these are abstract concepts that should apply across the board and not just to a single specific.
Yesterday:
Don’t base your identity too much around being special that you come to disdain the ‘predictability’ of the normal. Actually spend some time with that normal, and see how you truly feel about it. Maybe you will unexpectedly find yourself appreciating it! Nothing is beneath you.
This thought does apply, for example, to the course I chose in university. The type of course you choose will affect the type of people you meet. However, at the time, I was thinking to choose something more special instead of something more predictable. I, having reflected on it, feel now that perhaps I should not have made such a whimsical decision after all. Sometimes, however, you will just not have sufficient considerations when you make a decision! That is why they say that wisdom comes from age and experience. Regret is irrelevant, though, if you believe that you can’t have known better at the time (more specifically, psychology > philosophy).
Altruism, however predictable, is never overrated. Don’t love Ne so much that you dismiss Fe, thinking: Ah whatever, caring about people is so overrated. And other people can do it anyway!
(Why be altruistic? Is it not self-satisfaction, philosophers ask? Um, who cares? It’s really elementary- just do it and see how you truly feel about it! Feelings are the basis of you!)
In other words, don’t be so quick to cross the seemingly boring things out and happily move to being stimulated in your mind. Spectator mode is pervasive in modern society. You’ll only be mercilessly jolted out of it when it hits close to your heart. It somehow seems dumb, that. Keep your heart and eyes open!
University courses, jobs, even daily life – it’s so very applicable.
Today:
Impatience is infantile.
Not that that’s always bad.
Childlike excitement is good, imo. Just that sometimes you’ve got to steady yourself!
‘Hold on, let me finish this first’ is perfectly okay when underlying is mutual respect. Breaking focuses is not so nice.
This is just a waste of my time when can I go/ get a move on already and 敷衍 (perfunctory stuff) is no good. Seriously, nameru na (don’t look down on it)!
Since you are already doing something, why not do it without letting it spoil your mood? I mean, if you choose to do it that way, it really becomes a waste of your time! The key strategy is really this: You make your own mood. So try to salvage some fun out of it, yo! Otherwise just go zen…
Now today’s post is kind of different from my usual posts but I sort of feel that it is pretty relevant to people in the modern day. Hmm… is this sort of ‘self-reflection thingy’ not more common for a blog than conceptualising about abstract stuff? K, I’ll post it for self-satisfaction anyway, despite the lack of a clear topic. Maybe revisionary changes will come later. Or not. Hey, anyone, really can discover their own life lessons! One need only detach themselves from all the daily bustle a bit and try to think a bit more deeply about stuff. Then they can go back to doing the fun stuff in life! (Note: ‘Fun’ is partially sarcastic.)
