Hey there! Today, well, the title is pretty self-explanatory I believe, but I’m gonna be writing about the process of growing to become our highest selves. So… okay sit back, relax and enjoy the article!
First of all, I want to go into some quick metaphysics, okay.
Alright. Seen from detachment, what is life but a series of actions? And now, imagine that you had the chance to go back to the past and change some of your past actions. Would you? I suppose you most probably would!
Ha, I even translated a webnovel about this before. But, anyway.
See, the evident truth of life is that we can only think what comes into our awareness or mental activity. Back then, many things were unclear to you. You had not learnt many lessons, which some say is the whole point of life in the first place! Thus, some things that now appear like question marks to you would have gone thoroughly undetected by ya then.
Still, with how far you’ve come, where you are now. You should and would have done differently then, based on what you know now! No, it’s not really about what others did to you, it might not even be some fault committed by them. But still! You just know BETTER now on how to live! You had that complex, and so you took this action. It actually didn’t work out! And now you understand it wasn’t necessary.
Like, think of life as a maze. You took a few wrong extra bends. But hindsight gives you the clarity on what the right, best route really is!
So if you think of life as a movie, basically, you have consciousness and awareness as the screen of your life. Then, you make choices and take action based on the level of growth you’ve attained at the time. It is figuratively impossible for you to go beyond that!
Nope, it’s just that over time, it’d be better for you to grow and learn how this maze should actually be navigated. Then, so to speak, this maze is actually one of your own subconscious creation! Thus, the ultimate aim is to clear all those blockages within yourself such that the road ahead is oh so smooth and clear, just being one perfectly straight path going forward.
In fact, that we call alignment.
See, when you’re not fully aligned with yourself, think of you as this disassembled puzzle. Everything’s jumbled up, so naturally when you navigate it it kind of feels like a maze.
But then – spiritualists would say that the whole purpose of suffering & whatnot is to force you to this point – we realise that no! Things in my life aren’t TRUE to me, sustaining the HIGHEST version of myself! And then, through trial and error, we slowly adjust, till ultimately, perfect alignment ever so tantalisingly creeping closer, we reach the point where the path forward is just a perfect straight road. Tada!
Now, I believe that the average person might really get this concept of alignment. Like, sure, it sounds great and all, and it is a really cool concept too, but hey is it truly necessary? Isn’t standard life ok?
So now, let me try to illuminate you on this topic as best I can. See, let me say that the most aligned life is one where everything!! you do is filled with the intent of perfection. Like, it is so fulfilling and just… right! It’s so whole and nothing’s missing!
First and foremost, as we go through life, many things naturally fall between the cracks and slip through our mind. There are many things that we want to further refine and perfect, akin to like… knitting or whatever where you’ve gotta thread a needle through a lil’ hole.
But just think about how most people set New Year resolutions every year but generally just thoroughly abandon it one month in… And then they may try to set the exact same resolution one year later only to have it fail again, and the cycle repeats…
Now, the reason they DO set the same goal is that this goal truly resonates with them. For example, erm… it can be something like losing weight to look better or the like. Though of course, some are perfectly happy being plus sized, for yet others, how can this NOT be a goal?
And yet, the reason said resolution falls through is precisely because they have not found the right… like, think chemical equation… formula. So they try out a particular formula, but it isn’t something that can nicely and perfectly integrate into their everyday lives!
But see, since this goal oh so resonates with them, return it does next year.
Now, that was just a pure example, guys!
But anyway. Obviously, there are other factors that can come into play too. For example, they say that the desire is great enough, you’ll just push through all the way no matter what! So technically, you can attribute this resolution failure to the person not wanting it bad enough.
But hey, look at things from a bird’s eye view again… What if, and that is just a what if, the person would have been able to achieve their goal with just 20 min of exercise per day for 2.5 months? And yet they stopped after just one month despite having stuck to said routine literally every single day without fail?
And yes, the gains were there, just that they hadn’t yet reached the stage of being prominent. No, but they were just about to!
Basically, living a life of alignment is through the gradual adjustment of your daily routines and habits and practices such that they’re seamlessly, perfectly in sync with the life you want to live.
Food for thought: After the person had become slimmer, wouldn’t they still have needed to exercise to keep healthy and in shape? Yeah! So the more effective thing they maybe should have done is implement a sustainable workout routine into their lifestyle. Slowly… it becomes thoroughly enmeshed with who they are and they can no longer separate from it!
And who knows how many months it would take for them to reach their goal, but this way, it’ll still happen and it will sustain!!!
Now how was that for a thought experiment? Tbh I think it can still stretch the mind to some degree, hah!
Anyway, let’s go on…
Now. oftentimes, this project of the self, yourself, takes quite a long time to master. It’s not just one aspect like the earlier example, it’s all of ’em!
Nah, what you do is just go slow, breathe and relax. As you live life, go at it steadily, drip by drip, until it dawns on you!
It will feel like a puzzle piece as everything perfectly clicks into alignment and hey presto! You got a new routine that is thoroughly longstanding and will remain for as long as you want it to. It’s so truly you, meant for you at least, and filled with meaning that you won’t even want to cease doing it!
Now, I just want to say something about routines.
See, think of our life as having chapters. At one chapter in our life, we live this way. This is just the ordinary default state of how things are. We won’t even question it!
And the beauty of life is such that eventually, we’ll flip the page to the next chapter, and the ordinary default state of things will be so different then!
So really, the ultimate aim is to write the book for yourself till eventually, the ordinary, default state of your chapters, the background or the setting of the story so to speak, is one that is just literally perfect for you. The actual plot may change, but overall, setting slays!
And also, it’s important to look back on where your past self was and really treasure and appreciate them for it! See, life is about growth, and even your past self of that time had already grown and developed so much from a yet further past self! And with all that was actually accessible to your past self at the time, with the so-called conditioning underlying their plots, they were already doing the best! they could!
Trust that! Believe that!
And one important thing that I’ve really got to remind ya is to not accidentally forget about what has to be properly integrated in your life.
For example, let’s say you’re optimising your routines, working on your project of you.
You may get into the habit of say, reading, every now and then. See, let’s say your eventual destination is where it’s just one of the things that you do every day if you have the time, so it’ll just freely and seamlessly slip into your mind whenever one of those opportunities come up.
But at the moment, the way things work is that you have to actively wonder what I should do now, and then sometimes this pops into your mind and only then you do it! Very often, it thoroughly slips! your mind for a long period and you go rather long without doing it at all!
So, just like this example, there may be quite a number of things that have slipped your mind. Sure, the idea crossed your mind before and you spent some time on it, but… see, the mind is just such that things sometimes simply escape your awareness thoroughly! Until they come up in your mind again, you just aren’t remembering them! Such is life!
Yet, this particular activity is just so aligned with you, meant for you!
Sigh. Really, the goal is to integrate all those! Ultimately, life is such that every single activity that ya do is just oh so perfect, just so right!
Like, say, if you’ve always saying oh, I might want to do this someday… oh sure, you’re always saying it but kek, you’ll never actually take the initiative to do it yo! You’re just for show, what’s the point, hah! Lol, just trying out reverse psychology for a moment, don’t mind me! 🙂
Anyway, if you’re on this quest for gaining mastery of the project of you, don’t forget to look back on all your past experiences in life! Oftentimes, they’ll tell you what you have an affinity for, see. Honestly!!! That’s as good a place to start as any!
Three words:
Try! Refine!! Become!!!
Well, I feel like I’ve gone on for a long long time already, and they say people have increasingly shorter attention spans and all… Huh! I guess that’s as good a place to end as any!!!
Heheh. Hope y’all learned something from this article. Have a nice day, and life, and bye!
